Merge multiple Excel files into one sheet
Merge multiple Excel files into one sheet online. Map columns, append rows from 2–10 worksheets, and keep source references. Files stay in your browser.

How to merge multiple Excel files into one sheet
- Choose 2–10 worksheets to combine. You can select multiple worksheets from the same file.
- Arrange the inputs and map every output column to each source sheet. Confirm missing columns and any source columns you exclude.
- Process the inputs, check row counts and source references, then download the check report or combined data.
Combined data keeps the input order and includes the source file, worksheet, and Excel row number. The check report also lists missing columns, excluded columns, and issues.
Try two files with the columns in a different order
Download the two fictional files below, or choose Try sample files above. merge-a.xlsx has Order ID, Amount; merge-b.xlsx has Amount, Order ID. Map Order ID to Order ID and Amount to Amount. Keep A before B: the combined data has four rows, with source file, worksheet, and Excel row references.
| Order ID | Amount | Source file / Excel row |
|---|---|---|
| A100 | 100 | merge-a.xlsx / 2 |
| A200 | 200 | merge-a.xlsx / 3 |
| A300 | 300 | merge-b.xlsx / 2 |
| A100 | 100 | merge-b.xlsx / 3 |
Append files or worksheets in the order you choose
Use 1–5 .xlsx or .xls files and select 2–10 worksheets in total. You can combine sheets from one workbook or append sheets from several files. The combined data puts the selected rows in one worksheet. Each source sheet supports up to 10,000 rows; the combined output supports up to 50,000 rows, subject to the cell limits below.
Map different headings before combining rows
Match each source column to its output column. For example, map Customer ID and Client ID to one output field after checking they mean the same thing. Confirm missing columns, which produce blanks, and any source columns you exclude. The output is a new workbook using saved values, without the original formulas or formatting.
Check repeated records after the merge
A100 appears twice in this example and both rows remain. Combining appends rows; it does not remove duplicates or total amounts. Download the combined data, then open the duplicate-row tool if you want to review repeated IDs. To check changes between two versions, use the comparison guide.
What this tool supports
Use regular .xlsx and .xls tables with headers in the first row. Hidden rows are included; entirely blank rows are skipped. Saved formula results are used without recalculation. Output files are new workbooks and do not preserve source formulas or formatting.
.xlsx and .xls, with headers in the first row. Up to 10 MiB per file and 30 MiB in total. Up to 10,000 rows and 50 columns per sheet, with 1 million input cells in total. Exports have a separate 1 million cell limit, including source references and issue sheets. Processing time depends on your device.
Text “001”, text “1”, and numeric 1 are different values. Date text is not automatically converted to a date. Integers with an absolute value of at least 10¹⁵ in match columns are flagged for possible precision loss; lost digits cannot be recovered.
Some output cells contain errors or missing formula results. Review the issues and fix the input before downloading data results. The check report is available.
Can I combine sheets with different headings or missing columns?
Yes. Map the columns manually. Missing columns are left blank and excluded source columns require confirmation. Rows are appended in the chosen order, without deduplication or aggregation. Invalid output values are flagged rather than replaced with blanks.
Are my files uploaded or saved between visits?
Duplicate checking, combining sheets, and adding columns also run locally. Downloads are new files; source files are unchanged. These tools do not save cloud files or task history. Leaving will clear the current files and results. Make sure you have downloaded what you need.
Page visits and fixed tool actions may be collected when analytics is enabled. Spreadsheet contents and results are not attached. A download action means the browser generated the file and triggered a download; it does not confirm that the file was saved to disk.
